Welcome to DaleGenealogy.com, the web nexus for all things Dale. If you have any questions or comments about the site, feel free to email us. The highlight of the site is the wealth of genealogical data that we have been collecting over the past few years and our efforts towards making it available on the web for everyone.

Individual Updates
Over the next few months I plan to go through the website and try to get my data files in sync. This means that you'll probably see alot of updates to individuals that may or may not signify any new information. I am going to try and reconcile each and every individual with as many record sources as possible so you should see an increase in the amount of census data and other records per individual increase. Keep in mind that I do this in my free time or when I can't sleep, like now, so if it gets quiet for a while then I'm probably resting like I should be instead of spending nights sitting in the dark staring at genealogy information.

Server Upgrades
Due to recent Technical difficulties we will be moving the site around a bit over the next week (thru March 23rd) so it may or may not be available. We hope to have it all done without anyone actually noticing but we all know how that goes.

The Tucker connection
Before my grandmother became a Dale, she was a Tucker. If I've learned anything in the last 6 years, it is that genealogy work is never easy and often impossible. When I called her the other day to find out more about her mom and dad I was told to call one of my great aunts as she would know more. I spoke with my great aunt for about 20 minutes and learned a great deal. If I had more time I would talked even longer.

I also ran across another truth, not everyone is connected. I'll be printing off and packaging up everything I have on the Tucker connection and mailing it to her to see if she can fill in the blanks and give me some of the family history. I can at least say that she helped me to locate some of the Tucker connection. I now know (with a fair amount of certainty) who Robert Noel Tucker's mother and father were along with a few other connections. I'll be getting that information up shortly once I've got it formatted so that the website can read it all.

Still Alive
Despite possible rumors, I am still alive and the site is still being maintained. Of course, as with everything, life does interfere sometimes. I've spent most of my free time recently doing a lot of research and my most recent focus has been on the Burton lines on my wife's side of the family. As always, feel free to contact me and share your information.

Site Changes
I think all the database changes are completed now. We have also made some changes to our census data so that we can properly link census data and individuals and represent that linkage on the site. Please let me know if you have any suggestions for things you would like to see on the site.

Database Changes
We are making some changes to the backend database which controls pretty much the entire site. Don't be surprised if a few things appear to be broken for the next few days.

Welcome Back
We have been down for a while due to technical and financial difficulties. Hopefully they are all resolved now. We may be down again soon as we are still trying to make arrangements for a more permanent home for the site.

Census Data
I previously had a transcription of the 1820 Census of Lawrence County, Indiana available on this site. I have recently removed it as this information can be found elsewhere on the web. One location that I know of for sure is at http://www.ingenweb.org/lawrence/index.htm. I have replaced the Census Data with some new data that I have been collecting based on Census records for the Dale Surname specifically. These records are based on either a census transcription or a census image and is now available under the census link.

Donations
I recently added a donation link above for the purpose of helping to both fund this site and to continue my research. Please note that all donations will be used to maintain this site and to continue the research of the Dale surname. I thank each and every one of you for all of your support and help.

If you are seeing this, then you are seeing the new site. I think everything is working like it should be. Let me know if it isn't.

Moving Sale...
Okay, it's not really a sale, but we are moving. I have a new host that I have just finished setting up the basics. I will be working on moving the data over tonight and the site should start pointing to the new host by early next week. If everything goes as planned then noone should even notice the change.

Style Changes
Upgraded the Site Layouts to a newer format. I've been looking at the traffic stats recently and have noticed that the site is getting a lot of traffic. As a result I'm looking into moving the site to a better host. I'll try to make a post before I do this so that everyone has a warning.

Site Improvements
We have run thru all the scripts and it appears that we have fixed everything that broke with the server upgrade. We are now investigating the possibility of adding some of those long promised features that we haven't had the resources to complete.

Site Improvements
We are in the process of moving the site to a new server which should give us some improved performance and maybe even provide some financial support for our little adventure.

We hope to have everything back to normal by the April 7th. Until then, you may see or experience some abnormal performance from the site.

September 11th, 2001
On September 11th, 2001 a terrible tragedy struck America. An attempt was made to strike fear into the hearts of America, to scare us, to shame us, to destroy us. Our hearts and prayers go out to every American, and to all of humanity. May God Bless And Protect Us All.

Searching for the Hidden Dale
Received copies of Volumes 1 thru 13, excluding 8 & 10, of the information previously published by the Dale Library in Phoenix. If anyone has Volumes, 8, 10, or 14 and up, I would be very appreciative if you could send me a copy.

And my thanks go out to Dorothy who so kindly supplied me with the copies.

1820 Census of Lawrence County, Indiana
Have transcribed pages 2 thru 15 of the 1820 Census of Lawrence County, Indiana. There are another 9 or 10 pages to go. Will upload the images once the entire set is transcribed.

Many thanks to Lora who has provided the images and so much more. Found the record of my Great, Great, Great Grandparents Marriage in the marriage data she sent me. Will be sorting out that data and making it available here also when time permits.

I would like to request that if anyone finds a connection to the information provided here that they notify me.

Many thanks again Lora, words cannot express my gratitude.
